About the Photographer

Jim Kennedy

I didn’t always see beauty through the lens.

After Vietnam, my eyes were filled with destruction — war, death, and the machinery that delivered it. The ship I served on was a floating instrument of devastation. We would go in, rain hell on the land, and leave it in ruins.

For years, that was all I saw.

But one day, I picked up my camera again.

And something shifted.

People began to notice something in my images — something I couldn’t see at first. My wife Christi, and others close to me, kept saying there was something different about the way I captured light. They couldn’t name it, but they felt it.

Then came the moment that changed everything.

I had printed a few photos and brought them to someone I trusted. After looking at them, they asked me a simple question:

“What do you see in these images?”

Without hesitation, I said:

“When I look through the lens of my camera, I see the glory of God’s creation instead of the horrors of war.”

That was 2013.

That was the moment this site was born in my heart.

WalkInTheLightPhotography is not a business.

It’s a testimony.

Every image is a declaration:

God is already here. His glory is everywhere.

I photograph the world the way God taught me to see it — full of light, full of hope, full of purpose.
